Any-Bash is an ability and a combat technique.

Description

This technique allows the effective use of nearly any weapon as a bludgeoning club, even if they are not designed for that purpose.

Requirements

This ability is not initially available and must be unlocked. To unlock this ability, your character must reach Expert level in any of these combat skills: One-handed club, Two-handed club.

Once unlocked, to be able to perform this combat technique, your character must be equipped with the following:

  • A suitable weapon; see the section below for details.

Use

Any-Bash allows a character to treat an equipped weapon as a bludgeoning club, enabling what is known as "bludgeoning damage". The skill required depends on the Class of the weapon used, and the amount of damage depends on the Weight of the weapon used.

Any-Bash can be used even if the equipped weapon is already a one-handed or two-handed club, however inefficient that may be.

If you are using Any-Bash and your equipped weapon is:

  • Class 1, Class 2 or Class 5 Long: Calls for Two-handed club skill.
  • Any other weapon Class: Calls for One-handed club skill.

For every successful hit when using Any-Bash, the weapon used loses 1000 Condition. The Condition lost is removed at the end of the turn for the sake of convenience, after counting hits and damage. Beware, as it may result in the damage, if not destruction, of the weapon used as a bludgeon.

  • If using a weapon that does not have a Condition meter (such as hand grenades, or certain weapons like the longbow), using them with Any-Bash will always irreparably break or destroy them, as though they had less than 1000 Condition.
