Advanced handloading services

501 bytes added, 03:37, 4 October 2023
Fortunate characters may have access to the machinery and tooling of certain factories, enabling a range of advanced services that may allow handloaders to manufacture their components straight from raw materials. Access to these services should be restricted to most characters, but makes for a good quest reward.
Three services can be provided by an ammunition factory(Aosaidan, Ellen Sector):
* Factory-assisted handloading: If you have the components, but no kits, or if you simply want the hassle of loading ammunition to be handled by machines, you may deliver all compatible components to a factory, which will load any quantity of ammunition for you in 1 day period. Please note that ammunition obtained this way will not result in gaining Skill Points, since you are not loading it yourself. This service costs 0.10 per round of ammunition loaded + all necessary components.
* Case and hull manufacture: Detailed in its own section below
* Projectile manufacture: Detailed in its own section below
One additional service can be provided by an explosives and propellants factory(Littleton):
* A powder and primer shop, which offers every type of primer and every type and quality of powder in large quantities and at a discount (usually 30% off) compared to gun shops and weapon shops, as they are manufactured on site.
Requirements:
* Select a suitable caliber (all except .22 Long Rifle, 4.2x30mm R Golden Gun or , 4.73x33mm Caseless, or 10x24mm Caseless)
* Bring brass bars to be cut and shaped into cases or hulls
* If the selected caliber is 12 gauge, 20 gauge or .410 bore, you also need boxes of plastic sheets; 1 plastic sheet will be used per hull

* Miscellaneous items:
** Magnesium explosive (MgX) charges, for the manufacture of API and I-Slug ammunition
** Tracer charges, for the manufacture of T ammunition
An ammunition factory will turn your metal ingots (and, if needed, your MgX charges) into fixed batches of projectiles. Because various projectiles have various masses, you must supply at least a sufficient amount of metals and charges to make a full batch. The supplied ingots will be consumed, even if there would otherwise be "leftover" metal.

* D-Buck: 100% Lead (Uses 1 MgX charge per shell. The charge is directly inserted into the shell as a component and not actually used to fabricate a special projectile.)
* P-Buck, F-Slug: 90% Lead + 10% Copper
* I-Slug: 100% Lead + 2 1 MgX charges charge per slug
* Flech: 100% Steel
* Coin shot: No need for raw materials; use nickel coins directly instead
