12.7x108mm is a type of ammunition for firearms. It is classified as a (R)ifle caliber.
Much like .50 BMG, this cartridge was originally designed for use in heavy machine guns, such as the DShK, which are not man-portable firearms. Many decades after its introduction as a heavy machine gun round, it was adapted for use in specialized heavy precision rifles, known as anti-materiel rifles (AMR). These rifles can be thought of as the spiritual successors to anti-tank rifles. It must be noted that in the Mazes, AMR stands instead for anti-monster rifle.
12.7x108mm is pronounced twelve point seven by one hundred eight millimeters.
This caliber may also be known as 12.7mm DShK or 12.7x108mm Black Arrow, after the most popular 12.7x108mm firearm in the Mazes, the Zastava M93 Black Arrow. In real life, it may also be designated 12.7mm Soviet or 12.7mm Russian, though these designations are not used in the Mazes.
