.357 SIG

20 bytes added, 21:13, 20 June 2019
.357 SIG is pronounced three fifty-seven SEEG. .357 SIG is based on .40 S&W, but necked down to accept bullets of the same diameter (.355) as those used in 9x19mm Parabellum. The name was chosen because the ballistic performance of this caliber approaches that of .357 Magnum, but it is designed to be used in semi-automatic pistols.
This caliber may also be known as 9x22mm, or simply .357, though it is not encouraged due to the similarly-named .357 Magnum.
