As a user of the BPR, 3D is very comfortable with all manners of pump-action firearms, including shotguns. They simply prefer the rifle, but can and will use a shotgun if given one by a client or if they find one they like in the UA. That said, they don't like long-term contracts, and will not work for a client for more than 3 days- they specialize in short jobs.
 
For reasons unknown, 3D and Tank don't get along. MAIM advises clients not to hire both for the same job, though their differing skillsets is normally enough to keep them out of the same contract.

In spite of what one may think about her based on her history and callsign, Basher is not a ruthless or violent individual. While she is straightforward and won't shy away from violence, she also does not seek it out, and will generally prefer other solutions to problems. That said, she has named her gohei 'Brains' in honor of the incident that ended her employment with Heaven, Ltd., and it even still has the red stains on the paper tassels from that incident.
 
Of note, Basher has retained the mental conditioning that shrine maidens normally receive, and it has led to her having complicated feelings about Heaven, Ltd. She feels as though she's been betrayed, cut off from the rest of the whole that is the company without reason - normally, a shrine maiden whose employment is terminated is simply killed or otherwise disposed of, but for reasons unknown to her, Basher was spared and simply ejected from the company. She's still a devout believer in the Angelic Virtues, though she no longer attacks Demonics on sight.

== Personality ==
In a word, Stitches is motherly. Caring, patient, and inexorably driven to defend those who matter to her, she often treats the other mercenaries in MAIM with the same affection she shows her own children. As a result of this, and her own personal aversion to being called Stitches, many other members of MAIM refer to her as Okaachan - literally, Mom. Like any mother, she often worries for them, and can tend to be nagging and protective of those she's formed an attachment with. Of particular note is her close friendship with Prancer, who often accompanies Stiches during her trips into the UA to collect mushrooms.
She also has a fascination with old and rare firearms, and is known to collect them if she comes across them in the UA. Of particular interest to her are exceptionally rare automatic revolvers, of which none are available by retail in the Mazes today. Employers can expect her to be easily distracted by this fascination, though she knows better than to let it effect her contract.

Six hails from the Garcia Garica Block, where she once belonged to a small-time gang known as the White Terrors, a name coming from their habit of bleaching their hair white. They became notorious for hit-and-run raids on UA travelers, and once made worldwide headlines in 688 when they hit a heavily-guarded caravan of precious coins, killing every hired bodyguard and the couriers themselves. Six, despite being only 18 at the time, was a key player in the success of this hit.
In the years that followed, the gang's influence declined, in no small part due to the [[Yatela Syndicate|Syndicate's]] low tolerance for competitors. The two other leaders of the gang insisted that they should fight the Yatela and reclaim Garica Block for themselves; Six, on the other hand, supported the idea of being assimilated into the Yatela family, in order to ensure their survival. The proposal was overwhelmingly rejected. On the day that followed, Violet was instructed to travel to the local fast food factory to collect a package; it turned out to be an ambush. Four gangsters, armed with various automatic firearms, attacked Violet in the deserted shop hub area. Fortunately for her, she managed to fight back, and managed to kill all four of her attackers. As it turned out, these four gangsters were all members of her own gang, who had begun fearing that Violet was a traitor who had ratted out to the Yatela family. In retaliation, Violet found and murdered her fellow gang leaders, having apparently beaten both of them with her bare hands until their skulls cracked open. The White Terrors were finished; being the only remaining gang leader and having killed six members, two of which being leading figures, Violet decided to rename herself to "Six" and to brand her left forearm with a tattoo depicting six cracked skulls piled up, so as to never forget the six traitors that tried, and failed to kill her.

While MAIM normally frowns upon drug use by its members, Fireball's skills speak for themselves, and she was allowed into the organization. Prospective employers are warned that her bad history with makaryuudo will lead to, at best, cold shoulders from the youkai swordsmen; in extreme cases they might choose to kill her.  == Personality == Fireball is nothing if not a thrill seeker, and is the least money-motivated of all the mercenaries in MAIM. She's always looking for her next adrenaline rush, and is almost always high on some cocktail of recreational drugs. Even when sober, she is energetic and always bouncing off the walls, which is the origin of her callsign. She never puts anything less than 200% into what she does, and is often knee-deep in spent brass at the end of combat - if she's not painted red from head-to-toe with her enemies' blood.  She's remained quiet on how she feels about the makaryuudo, with some suspecting she regrets the choices she made leading up to her ejection from the Masatomo makari-dan. She still carries the daisho, and regularly practices with her swords in the traditional fashions makaryuudo employ. Fireball is also known to play the shakuhachi in her spare time. Conversely, her hard-partying habits and lack of remorse for violence suggests she was never a good fit for the makaryuudo, and she's never admitted to regretting how her life turned out. Fireball is known to have a strong dislike of Shrapnel, though the reasons for this vary based on who is asked. She maintains that it's because he's a "racist pig," referring to his past loyalties to the Maze Police. He insists that it's because she's a "raider-adjacent junkie," a reference to both her well-known drug addictions and her time with the makaryuudo. Within the SRT, he was again recognized as a rising star by those around him, and he was ultimately selected for membership in the prestigious Emergency Support Group, a highly-specialized SRT team in [[Citadel Lambeth]] that is led by the Sheriff themselves. Shrapnel led a long, successful career in Lambeth, becoming a frequent associate of former Sheriff Jack Manston, and is quoted as having described him as "a fearless leader of men, a man without equal in the law enforcement community." After Manston retired in 698, it is believed that the new Sheriff, [[Len Hargrave]], was very skeptical of Shrapnel. Ultimately, Hargrave ousted him from the ESG - and the Police as a whole - for an incident that occurred in Duplima of that year. The subject is taboo for all who know of it, having seemingly agreed to never speak of it again. Within a week, he appeared at Ferron City, and was summarily granted a place in MAIM, where he's remained since. == Personality == Many members of MAIM describe Shrapnel as "the classic Police Officer," with some preferring the pejorative "pig" and a few (most notably Fireball and Starburst) refusing to work with him due to political differences between them. As one would expect from this description, Shrapnel is very straightlaced, by-the-book, and a goody-two-shoes. He refuses to ever break [[Standard Law]], and has been known to arrest paying clients on occasion if their transgressions are too great for him to ignore. Because of all of this, he is a brilliant operator in any setting, rarely making mistakes and always thinking things through before he does them.  His callsign comes from his skill with grenades and grenade launchers, something he always excelled at in spite of his middling abilities with traditional firearms. If asked, Shrapnel will make it clear that "pistols and I don't get along," and he is one of the few exceptions among MAIM personnel who cannot pass basic marksmanship tests with a semi-automatic pistol. From a young age, she took an intense interest in this, and often studied yousei folklore relating to the concept of the Saikyou no Yousei - the Strongest of All Fairies, a mythological figure prophesied to one day lead the species to greatness. She seemingly outgrew this when she became an adult, joining one of Yurai's many activist cells and making a name for herself as a marksman, albeit being plagued with an inability to get promoted to squadleader.  This refusal of promotion from her superiors is what one day broke Nineball. Feeling that it was the latest in a lifetime of disrespect and disdain towards her on account of being a yousei, she deserted the Youkai Nation and struck out on her own, vowing to prove that her people were worthy of being more than just the dregs of youkai society. After much intense training and a few high-profile jobs for the [[Hiring Bureau]], MAIM approached her in 689 to offer her a permanent place in the organization. She accepted, and remains part of agency today. == Personality == Nineball is notorious for the chip on her shoulder regarding the treatment of yousei by Maze society writ large, and is especially sensitive to any perceived disrespect: she despises being given the Youkai-Go honorific "-chan," and tends to respond with prompt and '''extreme''' violence to anyone saying she is an idiot or a weakling (two things she believes to be negative stereotypes about yousei). On the flip side, anyone who treats her with dignity earns her respect and loyalty, and her drive to prove herself has led to her being the most capable of all of MAIM's mercenaries, bar none. Her callsign is one she gave herself, and anyone who disagreed with her learned the hard way that her small stature packs more physical strength than an average oni. She is very quick to anger and has killed a number of employers that MAIM won't disclose because they "treated me like a lesser creature," and several employers have complained about her confrontational nature. That said, she is equally quick to forgive in the case of genuine misunderstandings.  When asked about the topic of the Saikyou no Yousei, she will typically respond with "all of us have limitless potential, so why can't it be me?" There is a softer side to Nineball she rarely shows, which reveals her to be a silly, carefree person with a penchant for practical jokes - particularly those involving ice or other cold objects. She is known to have an affinity for ice cream and other frozen treats. Despite her history with the Youkai Nation, she isn't more prone to attacking activists than she is to attacking anyone else, and her reputation is enough to stop all but the most bold and/or stupid activists from trying to bring her in for desertion. A few mercenaries jokingly call her 'Threeball' on occasion, in reference to the red camouflage she wears and has painted on her weapons. Nineball doesn't seem to mind as long as it's not too frequent. Being the only survivor of that UA group, she had nowhere to go, and so came to MAIM looking for a new lease on life. == Personality == Starburst is a chipper, upbeat person with a sharp wit and more than her fair share of sarcasm. Often remembered for her snarky, irreverent quips, she is nonetheless a friendly person who gets along well with most people she meets. As a rule, she doesn't get along well with members of the [[Maze Police]], always referring to them as "pigs" and taking every chance she gets to take them down a notch or otherwise humiliate them.
